Every morning at 8 [Thoughts] Bike. Bolt/nut tightening forgotten dramatically reduced? Just don’t do a preliminary tightening, right?

There’s probably not a single person who hasn’t had that moment of panic… (100%)

I sometimes wonderwhy bolt and nut tightening gets forgotten in the first place.
Sure, if your hands stop midway and you get distracted by something else, that’s a problem.
But to put it bluntly,
if you don’t do a preliminary tightening, you won’t forget to tightenin the first place. That’s what I think.

The other day, I was working and…

It slipped right off? Hmm, hmm, hmm? Hand-tight?
I nervously asked the customer to confirm,

and they said last time someone did it with ○○○.

Phew (*´з`)

In cases like that, I deliberately don’t tell them the facts.
Why? Because no problem has actually occurred as a result.
This gets into very difficult philosophical territory, but telling them the facts won’t produce anything positive in the end.
It’s different if I’m telling the person who did the work…

If you’re worried, apply the wrench as many times as you need to!

That’s better than having a bolt or nut come loose.
If you get it as tight as possible, you can sleep with peace of mind.
I don’t think there’s anything embarrassing about checking multiple times.

Skipping the check and having a problem occur is far more embarrassing, don’t you think?

Actually, there are places where looseness gets you in trouble and places where it doesn’t matter.

Looseness and detachment are things you’d rather avoid, but… in terms of priority.

Just paying attention to this really boosts safety.
The places where looseness is bad are mainly the undercarriage (front and rear brake areas) and around the handlebars.

To put it bluntly,
a cowl screw coming loose versus a caliper mounting boltcoming loose are completely different in significance.

It doesn’t take five minutes before delivery.
If you just check the undercarriage and handlebars, most problems won’t occur, I think.
