Switching to Rosso Corsa. The edges are melted…

It’s a matter of tenths of a millimeter, so we’ll shave it down gradually.
If we overdo it, it won’t move when tightened… oh dear, we need to be careful.

Shaving here and shaving there… it’s a matter of wanting to make it work as long as possible.
Going with a bearing-equipped unit would be faster, but there are issues with pedal arm length and angle, so picking from off-the-shelf options might be a bit tricky.

Both the shaft and the ball joint have bent.
If you push and pull as straight as possible, there shouldn’t be any wasted force.
Rear brakes these days are mostly ball joints too. Just because it’s a ball joint doesn’t mean it’s okay to use it at an angle. Depending on how you use it, the results can be pretty disappointing.

As I mentioned earlier, which part should we protect?
Basically, a cover is most effective on the part you want to avoid wearing down or scratching.
It’s faster to buy a shift rod than to make one, and it even comes with anodizing…
So that’s why we don’t need machine tools anymore… how sad (;∀;)
