The OEM is 30 mm diameter.
The images are somewhat illustrative.
Using depth and such, I’d estimate it probably ranges somewhere around 30 to 34.
A stopper problem has emerged.
It’s just barely touching, but if you twist hard, it jumps right over—super dangerous.
Since it’s in the throttle-closing direction, it’s not the worst, but it’s a spot that needs attention.
We install an M5-1D insert in the meaty part of the switch box to set a stopper.
All this just to swap out a throttle.
There are two bumps on the top and bottom of the switch side. If you don’t remove them like in the right image, the operation feels really bad.
So it seems to be working the way it should now, or so I think.
The stock one has a large fan opening—the throttle cable is slightly pulled.
The variable has a small fan opening—the throttle cable has plenty of slack.
We can tighten the cable, pull on the carb side, or add shims. We’ll adjust it the way that’s least troublesome.
I’d recommend not trying to DIY this throttle into a Suzuki OEM switch.
