It was clearly a steal compared to the market price.

When I checked my watchlist a while later, it had already ended and been relisted. Even though I wasn’t planning to buy, I felt relieved.

When I checked their other listings, there were now three motorcycles for sale: a CBR, a ZRX, and a VTR1000SP2. Zero consistency?
The backgrounds were all different, and the descriptions felt off too.
I wondered if people like this existed, so I looked closely at the photos and read the descriptions. Usually, when the same person lists multiple items, the writing style and structure are consistent.
But these three listings didn’t feel like they were written by the same person at all.
Yahoo Auction lets you view ended auctions (though the window is limited).
So I searched, and man, I really have too much free time.
Wait—the exact same photos came up from the past, and the text was completely copy-pasted.
I thought maybe someone who bought it before reused the same photos, but nobody does that, right?
While I was investigating, it got snatched up quick. “Oh well, it sold.”
That VTR1000SP2 stayed on my mind, so today I was checking how much my watchlist items sold for when
I found that VTR in the history.
I clicked on it and saw “Overall rating: Suspended.”
This was intentional.
I’ve been hit by this once before, and when your overall rating gets suspended, there’s no way to contact them.
Back then there was no anonymous shipping like now, so I jotted down their cell number—best decision ever.
After about a week of endless calls and relentless texts, the item finally arrived, sloppily wrapped. *I’d bought a Bosch drill, but still.*
It wasn’t expensive, so it worked out, but with a motorcycle, it would be really bad.
Since the vehicle comes with a valid inspection, the title transfer documents will be sent once payment is confirmed, and the vehicle will be handed over once the transfer is complete.
Watch out for the registration certificate scam. I don’t know if this is fraud or legit, but it just occurred to me.
