The other day, for reasons I won’t get into, I disconnected the connector and temporarily tapped power and ground.
I confirmed the power light came on, and the next morning.
Huh? What? The engine won’t start…
Usually the last thing you touched is the culprit.
*When you disconnect it, the igniter stops receiving 12V power on, just like in the wiring diagram image.
There’s a bagged 4-pin connector around the tail light area.
I thought at the time it was probably a diagnostic connector or something…
But when I think about it, this is a carbureted bike…
Looking at it this way, it’s just a connector, but…
The pins stick out and conduct when connected.
I’m guessing it’s probably an optional immobilizer connector…
When I checked the imported model manual, it didn’t exist in the Japan version.
Well, it was information that may or may not be useful.
