The upper cowl comes right off, but the connector runs all the way down under the meter and won’t come out without disassembly—those moments when you think, “That’s a shame.”

You have to remove the air cleaner box assembly to get the filter out.
It’s only two bands and push rivets, but…
I gave it a good wash with hot water.
You can imagine the disaster five seconds later—it’s surprisingly necessary.
A towel keeps things safe.
It still had some life left, so I reused it this time.
