KZ900 Inspection, Side Stand Adjustment, Spark Plug Replacement

The story of buying a Z and getting deeper and deeper into the swamp. Well, I guess.

I listened to the story of getting stuck (*・ω・)(*-ω-)(*・ω・)(*-ω-) Yeah, yeah ♪

and I really felt how deep the darkness in the motorcycle industry runs. We ended up just doing the inspection and light maintenance.

I understand the flow of avoiding with the rubber that makes contact. But the rubber on the GSX-R1200SS is better. Absolutely. Suzuki 44541-03F00—it’s thick and the cable ties sink right in.

The frame side must be worn down.
There are three options:
• Build up the frame side and repaint—lots of work, so rejected
• Weld an L-shaped block to the side stand side—somewhat labor-intensive, so rejected
• Shear out the stopper plate and weld it—easiest

So we’re going with the easiest approach, which is also the most recoverable direction.

The original dimensions of the bottom and top of the U-shape.

I backed it off just a little bit.

It’s welded in an L-shape so it can be removed if needed.

That’s how it turned out. Next is spark plug replacement and then we issue the inspection certificate and we’re done.

What? That was fast! Well, inspection is our specialty.

We look forward to your inspection.
