This is what I’m currently using.
My old unit one—was it a Leica? (I’m not sure)—had its battery cover break.
It became beyond repair.
I figured next time it should be Bosch.
So I bought the BOSCH Cross Line Laser QUIGO PLUS.
We don’t have a motorcycle lift at home.
When drilling holes in the undercowl, I place the laser on the floor and angle it using clay or similar.
But then…
if I tilt it at too steep an angle, it won’t illuminate (though of course nobody uses it that way).
One use and goodbye—a sad story.
*I think every day about how you really don’t know what something is like until you buy it and try it.
If I’d never made a shopping mistake, how much money would I have left?
Learning from my mistakes, here’s what I’ve figured out.
Even a rough angle will work fine as long as it illuminates and I can see the hole position, so I don’t think you need anything too fancy. *In case it fails or breaks anyway.
• Has a camera tripod boss (female threads)
• Illuminates even when tilted at an angle
• Price range around 5,000 yen
• Has both level/vertical and cross line modes (cross line alone is fine too)
Convenient uses—basically cowl hole drilling examples:
• Undercowl hole positioning
• Grab bar hole positioning
• Engine slider hole positioning
• Side bag bracket hole drilling
• Turn signal position hole drilling
When installing aftermarket parts, the applications are pretty much endless.
Hmm, around here? *whirrrr* “Oh no, it’s off…”
