First, from the rear. Basically, cleaning is the main focus, and we inspect by looking at and touching various parts.
Even if it runs well, if the appearance looks tired, the affection seems to be cut in half.
If the work includes restoration elements, I think the bike will stay in good condition and look clean longer.
The owner is happy, the next person to work on it feels good, and even after resale the condition is good—it seems like there’s nothing but good things if we just clean it up a bit here.
The rear axle looks good too.
I’ve adjusted the bearings.
The tire runout looks fine.
It looked like it had never been washed—the grime was incredibly stubborn. The piston action is a bit stiff too.
The chain looks like it’s the original from when the bike was new. There’s no uneven wear, but I think it’s time to replace it soon.
We use dirty rags to their limit. When you wipe away accumulated oil grime with a damp rag, it comes off pretty clean.
Just a little effort and you think, hey, that looks great!
The front axle is fine too.
The tires look good. If they start to wobble, it’s better to drop the tire pressure a bit.
The wheel bearings look fine.
