I was thinking of using it on a Z or GS, but the actual piece and size feel were a bit off.
So I thought, why not just put it on the CB1100?
It’s been a while since I’ve done my own work.
Italian-style curved design. Overseas design really has that bold, attacking feel rather than playing it safe—it’s great. The hydroforming technique used for shaping is an interesting method.

Design matters. I worry about it so that after installation I don’t end up thinking “hmm, that’s not quite right.” (It takes a while.)
Well, the angle was completely different… it was all over the place.
I had no choice but to cut and rotate the silencer inlet to change the angle. (It’s the easiest method without using extra material.)
The next morning… it was garbage day and I came in early. I immediately cut it with the contour saw. Our shop doesn’t do much curve cutting, so it’s a thick blade. It handles straight lines pretty well.
I fitted it carefully and welded it. Well, it’s the usual finish. I need to practice more.
Next I’ll make the inlet. I’ll use a 42.7φ with a step. Since I changed the angle on the silencer side, a straight one works now.
So that’s pretty much instant up to this point. Next is making the bracket.
Everything involves detailed work that takes time.
