GSXR1100N self-point maintenance request.
We did a thorough job the other day, so this time it’s self-point maintenance.
When the chain is clean and spins smoothly, pushing and pulling the bike becomes much easier.
When applying chain oil, basically work it in. You want to push it deep in, kind of like that.
You do this while rotating the wheel by hand, and you can feel stiff links transmit through your fingers, so you can quickly tell how good or bad the chain is.
The caliper condition was good too.
All the fluid was clean → already replaced.
Moving parts get cleaned and externally lubricated. If grease was packed in during a previous Deco-mainte, this kind of lubricant can revive the grease, so to speak—it’s surprisingly still good to go.
If you only do external lubrication, I’d say the lifespan definitely won’t be as good.
The fork got cleaned, lubricated, and rust-proofed. After charging the battery, we’re done.
Idling is nice and stable—running great.
