Let’s perform valve clearance adjustment.

First, let’s do the prep work. Anything that can be polished should be polished to make it look beautiful—it’ll last longer that way. And your love for the bike deepens too.

Steering damper bracket. Polish → chamfer → counterbore. Nobody notices, but this way the bolts stay hidden and it’s lighter.

Overall condition was excellent. The clearances didn’t show any wild variation either. Since it’s adjustable, I set both EX and IN to spec.

The engine oil has been changed regularly. No signs of overheating either.

For the head cover gasket, please assemble it without applying anything to it whatsoever.
Some people think liquid gasket is preventive, but it’s barely effective. And honestly, it’s a pain to remove later.
Leaks mean gasket degradation, or there’s something wrong with assembly or the engine itself.

You have a Watanabe power coil installed. You’ll get better ignition performance if you widen the gap. (I’ve already done that.)
