The cord was inserted into the coil. It’s a slightly unusual layout, but the serviceability should be better.
The cap is oriented toward the coil side. It’s the opposite of the stock setup, but shouldn’t the cap face the direction the cord is bent? I think this is the simplest approach.
Considering a heel guard made from raw aluminum.
More holes definitely look cooler, I think. You really can’t get a feel for something like this without seeing the actual part. There’s not much space on the back, so if I just use straight ribs without reinforcement, the heel could push through—that might not work. Still thinking it over.
