The GSX-R1000 K6 is already ten years old now… We had that rough period a while back where ten-year-old bikes required annual inspections.
The owner said it’s never been replaced. But the maintenance has been so good that the wear is gentle.
There’s very little dirt on all the parts, which is great. Now we need to prepare to welcome the new chain.
There’s minimal play, but it’s stiff, so let’s replace the damper too.
The customer wanted black coated sprockets and titanium nuts (no lock). We’ve installed them.
Well, we checked everything just to be sure.
The rotation is now smooth and quiet.
