Inspection, oil change, fluid exchange, starter relay swap, and tach gear oil leak repair—quite the job list.

Rust has been a concern lately. Let’s swap in hose clamps.

Long equals ugly equals unsafe.

Short equals light equals peace of mind. We’re replacing both top and bottom.

Ugh, filthy. The O-ring is rock hard too.

Cleaning things up a bit before reassembly just feels better.

Let’s level the shaft side too.

This is a good time to clean the inner parts, lubricate them, and put everything back together. The cable smells like really old oil.

Time to change the engine oil. It wasn’t too badly contaminated, fortunately.

Changing the fluid now. The rear is empty because we drained it during the hose work earlier.

Using a Honda relay turned out to be more work than expected—I learned my lesson. The starter relay is M5, and there’s a partition plate that makes it pretty tricky; only the terminals fit in the opening.
