We actually have our regular customers do a secret taste test.
When we tell them it’s been switched to ELF, since the price is higher than NC50, they might think “this could be better” or “the vibration has decreased” and lean toward positive impressions. I think tasting it without that awareness in mind is a purer evaluation.
There are a lot of discerning folks in this hobby world. I don’t think failing to notice a change means something is “inferior” or “bad.” If you can feel the difference yourself and are satisfied with it, then that grade is more than good enough, in my opinion.
When we dispose of the drained oil, we check to make sure there are no foreign objects in it. I thought maybe the customer would want to see it too, so I decided to keep a photo.
We found some bits of what looked like liquid gasket material. No problem at all.
We’ve filled it with ELF MOTO4 RACE 10W-60. I think it’s an oil you can feel confident about.
