It’s only lightly soiled, which is helpful. We avoid spraying brake cleaner and similar products too much.
We remove large chunks with a plastic scraper and wipe away the residue with a cloth dampened in mineral spirits.
We don’t clean it more than necessary.
You can see the teeth have worn down quite a bit. As they wear, there’s more play when you open and close the throttle.
Either the full width or the inner width works, but the inner width feels a bit more reassuring.
The chain width sold is uniform. It’s wonderful engineering.
It’s now completely clean. We’ll re-adjust and inspect the initial stretch around 500 km, which we always do for our customers.
