
We’ll replace the steering bearing.

With the wheel removed, the action was quite stiff and made a grinding sound.
When disassembled, there’s plenty of lubrication and no severe wear, but we’ll replace it to be safe.

After the race is pressed in, it’s reassuring to check visually to make sure everything is correct.

There are some minor impact marks on the upper side, but there’s no problem.

I’m curious to know what symptoms appear as it wears down.

If we mark it on the shaft, we’ll know next time. Sorry for the shaky handwriting.

Since the lower seat surface and head pipe are flush, we can’t reuse the seal, so we use the genuine part.
It’s just rubber, so there’s some resistance. And at 990 yen… Yamaha and Kawasaki sure charge good prices.

I wonder if there’s an easier and cleaner way to hang it… still thinking about it.
