No spring either. There aren’t any particular issues, but since we’re replacing the seal anyway, let’s look for a standard NOK part.

It’s really worthwhile to feel the difference that the collar and seal alone make.
Some seals are so tight to move by hand for waterproofing that the collar wears heavily, so we sometimes adjust the fit and align the clearance while checking the balance.
Some oil seals don’t go all the way in—they just hold the collar and keep water and dirt out—so it’s interesting to think about how you’ll actually use it.
