Parts are gradually coming in, so today we’ll work on the front area.

Since we’ll be disassembling the caliper, it’s easier to loosen things beforehand, but both the nipple and the hose joint were seized.

Every time I think I should make a kit to hang the light assembly more easily, but you know how it goes—out of sight, out of mind.
We’ll just hang it with tie-downs.

It had tapered roller bearings installed. There’s oil on them too.

The rear race is discolored. Did someone weld it or something??

Occasionally when these tapered rollers have been swapped in, they can be difficult to remove, so I really dislike the poor serviceability.

We’ll switch back to the original ball bearings.
