I couldn’t pass up using such great packaging. I carved a cable channel into the packaging case, then mounted it on the wall with large washers to gain surface area, and secured the case with tapping screws.
The outlet body itself was wobbly, so I applied hot glue to three spots on the back of the unit and pressed it firmly—now it’s solidly fixed.
I try to avoid double-sided tape because adhesive residue remains when you remove it, which looks messy.
Hot glue is convenient for this kind of work because even if you make a mistake, it peels right off, and when you press two surfaces together firmly, it develops considerable strength.
I’m still deciding where to mount it at home.
