Sportster 1200: Little-by-Little Changes

It’s taking quite a while…
Today I’m pushing to finally wrap this up.
Final check on the modifications! Pedal lever angle adjustment ★ looking good.
Once I added the ETC, the left cover stuck out a bit, so I’m going with an offset and easy-open design.
 

 
I didn’t have the guts to remake it from the base, so I extended it instead.
I bent it thin to increase strength, and since the fastener clip was moving, I tack-welded it and such.
 

 
I didn’t have the guts to make a slot, so I drilled a hole, cut it with a contour tool, re-welded the entry point, polished it, and sealed it shut.
 

 
For the other spot, I used the grommet ribs so you can push it in with a satisfying little “pop!” rubber feel.
 

 
Snap the fastener loose to remove it, pull it toward you, and the cover opens down with a nice drape.
Sometimes thinking takes longer than building… Tomorrow I’ll test ride it and we’re done!
