but this is just a rough estimate, so please bear with us.
An analog dial is so much easier to use
 

 
Sit down, open the drawer, and you’ve got your micrometer right there! We prioritize convenience.
The top and bottom measurements are different, of course.
People sometimes ask if we do re-plating, but we don’t really offer it.
Re-plating work is genuinely scary if you can’t trust the shop, so we’re careful about that.
 

 
Should we measure the bottom case? Even if we do, it won’t gain anything, so we don’t.
On forks from the era before slide metal existed,
the bottom case wears down as you rack up miles, and sometimes you get weird problems… yeah, that happened.
BMW and so on—
changing the fork oil helps, but once you’ve put on enough miles, it still shows up, you know?

I’m not trying to sound fancy,
but low friction = gentler on the inner tube = oil seal doesn’t wear out = less likely to leak
is what I think!!
Fork oil that doesn’t leak is always better ★
