The fairing is off for the inspection.
Oh no—it’s a tapered roller bearing…
Once it’s swapped to this taper, as you can see,
there’s nowhere to strike, so we’ll weld the bolt instead ★
But! After the move, we put the welder in the back and the ground cable won’t reach…
So we sat there thinking and struggling for two hours… and at this point, backing out felt wrong,
so I decided we really need to get our equipment sorted…
We thin down a Suzuki stem bearing puller with a grinder ★
Got it out safely!
Yay! That saved us from doing it twice
Now we put the ball bearings back in.
Fit them in snug
I wondered if we could use a Suzuki seal on the lower side,
but no luck!
So we’ll make do with this…
The handlebar lock cylinder needs replacing too, but the key doesn’t fit, so we’re going full racing mode and smashing it
