Quality control failure again!
The fork oil seal arrives Wednesday, so I can’t assemble it yet… oh well
Guess I’ll temporarily assemble a used one
This is the worst.
So I’ll just replace the wheel bearing (front) for now.
I hate having grease stuck here.
And here too… it gets all over my hands
I’ll remove the clip around this area and clean it up ★
Got a bit sidetracked, but it turned out to be in pretty good condition with minimal play
Wheel bearing installation has manufacturer specifications, so be careful.
The bearing won’t go all the way into the wheel on both sides—only one side bottoms out.
On the front, the left side (speedometer gear side) bottoms out and you adjust on the right side
On the rear, the right side (caliper side) bottoms out and you adjust on the left side
It’s best to check the manual’s press-fit instructions if possible ★
Well, it’s all in the manual, but the front center easily gets misaligned.
People often say “the caliper center shifted after I replaced the bearing” ★
