I prefer it and use a ball bearing, so a tapered roller works fine too
Replacing the upper and lower seals with new ones—the GSF1200 has a plastic cap for the upper seal, so swapping it for a seal makes it harder for water to get in
which I think is good.
When the seal gets too tight, I level it with a lip and whetstone, removing only the minimum needed.
Went in perfectly ★ Checking with a surface plate or mirror like at the dentist.
Cream puff ★
The broken brace—the two front M8 bolts wouldn’t loosen and were bent; one came off but one snapped
and it took nearly two hours of wrestling to remove it.
Why did it bend in the first place?
Oh well.
