It’s mostly not a problem, but occasionally rust can cause overflow.
With chrome tanks like the GSF1200, the inside always rusts when you chrome plate them. It rusts quite a bit.
I was cheap about it and had a rough time. I ended up with a strange problem.
Anyway, setting that aside
It’s a coating like this paint—a silver pebbled finish.
I used to buy rust remover and use it often back in the day, and it does remove rust to some extent,
but rust forms again between rinsing and drying.
Even if it starts small, it grows and gets bigger over time.
I’d like to say, take care of it before you’re stuck somewhere, but I can’t keep the bike for this kind of work.
We adjusted the carburetor, took it for a test ride, and we’re done!
