Something so simple,
raising and lowering the window—
when it won’t come up, that’s a problem.
The other day it went in for inspection, and I heard “whirrrr~”
“Clunk!” It won’t come up anymore—just spinning empty.
Looking through the gap, something seemed to have come off the track. I don’t understand car structure at all, but I gave it a try.
Since this is basically a shop space where car shops fit in, there’s plenty of room!
I peeled it back and removed the inner vinyl to take a look.
This piece had come loose and fallen out!
It’s the rail that raises and lowers the window.
The window molding must have been too tight and it popped out.
I cleaned it up, lubricated all the moving parts, covered it with cutting sheet, and done!
Now it raises and lowers just fine—all’s well that ends well.
The passenger side isn’t working right either, but that’s for another time.
