Now for the repair on Namekura-kun.
I thought it would be a breeze,
but we need to install a helicoil,
and I forgot that the front hole was the same diameter.
If I enlarge the hole, the bolt will go deeper.
The M8 helicoil outer diameter is 9.9 mm.
The counterbore outer diameter is 12.23 mm.
That’s 2.33 mm, or 1.16 mm per side—that’s pretty thin and scary…
What do I do?
Well, here goes! I drilled it out, and the helicoil went in smoothly at the front and slid right in at the back too★
I was worried I’d end up in helicoil hell,
but lucky★!
