So we’re making just a little bit of progress.
I was asked to do bearing maintenance,
and the oil seal wasn’t installed.
If I assemble it as is, the movement will be extremely stiff, so I’m going to break it in from the start.
Since this isn’t an off-road bike that’s going to be tearing through mud all day, that’s fine.
If you remove it and spin the spacer by hand, you’ll see what I mean—
“it’s incredibly stiff.”
Maybe the spacer wears down before the rubber does. ★
Even a small improvement in operation is a win for us.
