The transmission engages sometimes and doesn’t other times…
Huh? What’s going on with it?
Usually when they bring it in, the symptom doesn’t show up.
That happens a lot.
Well, you know.
We do see return springs break or transmission slip, but cases like this are pretty rare.
The transmission structure is simple, so I don’t think it’s anything major.
When I checked it, it would occasionally catch and rattle up and down.
A pawl was catching in a weird spot…
I looked at the parts, but they weren’t worn that much.
I figured I’d grab a new one just in case.
When I looked at it, the shape was different. Is it a revision? Who knows?
The shift side seal was leaking too, so I replaced that.
I took it for a test ride and no problems, so we’ll keep an eye on it.
