For now, I’m polishing the cam lobe and waiting for the rocker arm.
The rocker arm is the key thing here. It’s really important.
Even after adjusting the valve clearance, if it’s still noisy—you might think something’s broken—sometimes it’s actually the rocker arm.
Sometimes it really is broken, but…
The uneven wear on the slider part where the cam makes contact can develop over distance.
If it’s just a little noisy, maybe replacing the valve clearance and rocker arm would be good?
