



This is the clutch release from a Yamaha XJR1300.
It’s been leaking since the 1200, but what can you do?
As the mileage goes up, it gradually seeps out and drips.
Most people just swap the whole assembly, and here’s why—you can see it in the photos.
The cylinder is pretty scored and rusty. The piston is probably wobbling around…
You can see wear marks up and down it. The seal is all scratched up too.
Suzuki doesn’t leak like this very often, though.
If you just replace the seal, it’ll be fine, but once it’s been used for a while, you’re better off going with the assembly.
