The bicycle’s steering is stiff and it won’t go straight for some reason.
At first I thought it was because of the block-pattern tires, but that wasn’t it.
So I went ahead and disassembled the front end of the bike!
Super easy☆ About 1/100th the complexity of a motorcycle!
What is this—unbelievable!
The stem bearing isn’t pressed in; it’s just fitted, and the stem shaft doesn’t even have adjustment threads cut into it.
It looks like you adjust it by tightening the M6 bolt on top…
Lame…
I disassembled it, washed it, and packed it with Neutech grease!
It became incredibly smooth and super responsive! Nice♪
Today I also did stem bearing and fork OH on a Z750 D1, and it was in pretty rough shape—really dirty, seals coming off,
races that wouldn’t come out, that kind of thing!
I bought a pencil rotary tool the other day for deburring engine work and managed to get through it somehow…
Let’s improve the operability of rotation and reciprocal motion!
