Well, this evening we had some seriously harsh winds blowing again♪
This morning, Kin-chan pulled off quite a feat by going to get the license plate (moped) registration on his own!
I handed it over last night and he got it registered the next day☆ I didn’t know he could move that fast . . .
But then a problem came up! Around 11 a.m., Kin-chan called and asked, “Is the license plate yellow?”
No way, it’s white! “But I got a yellow one . . .”
I looked at the documents I’d copied last night and . . . it said 53cc.
It was one of those modified 50cc bikes with a yellow license plate.
I hung up and made out a displacement change form, then called the ward office.
So, um, uh, blah blah blah—anyway, I’m going to fax over the supporting documents right now, so that should be fine, right?
I kind of forced the conversation along, and somehow it worked out—we got the registration and I breathed a sigh of relief.
The FZ was supposed to wrap up quickly, but the fork work finished and when we were installing the wheel, I checked the bearings.
Oh no—they were all rattling!
We couldn’t assemble it, so I made a deal with the boss and had him pick up replacements (from Togashi Engineering).
After we finished swapping the wheel bearings, the wheel spun smoothly and I felt relieved☆
Now I installed the caliper and finished the front . . . wait, what?
Now the brake is dragging—come on, you’ve got to be joking . . .
I remember—I think we had a used caliper lying around and were planning to swap it in.
But the condition was so bad that I had to pull it out and push it back in several times before I could get it to stop dragging,
and I really want to get it replaced soon.
And the rear caliper overhaul was also on the job list, and it was in terrible shape too . . . oh man, I’m telling you.
We finished and bled the air . . . we use air to suck up the fluid all at once, so it usually goes really fast,
but—the pedal won’t go down! Whoosh☆
Now it’s stuck down! Oh man, oh man—
As I pump it up and down, this gel-like fluid comes spurting out with a “brrrriiiiing~” sound,
and after repeating this mess over and over, a job that should’ve been done by 2 p.m. ended up taking until 6 p.m.—what a headache~
That was the kind of day it was.
One chain reaction of trouble after another~
“Girl Friend”—the only analog album by Michelle Gun Elephant I don’t have . . . that’s the one in the photo.
It was easy to get when it first came out, but I never picked this one up . . .
There’s one on Yahoo Auctions right now for 7,000 yen—what should I do? Hmm, I just collect analog stuff anyway,
so I just have it for the sake of having it~
Still thinking about it! Well, there we go~
