This time it’s an engine from a GSX-R1100K!
It’s a 78×59 engine with 1127cc…
The rocker arm is a 2-valve, 1-rocker type (personally, I prefer this one).
Well, I took it apart and had a look… The carbon buildup varies quite a bit.
For now, I’ve disassembled the head and cylinder (upper end) and soaked them in carbon solvent!
In about a week, the head, valves, and piston should be sparkling clean.
After that, I’ll measure the piston and cylinder clearance and check what needs to be done.
For the lower end, I’ll carefully match the bearings and replace the transmission bearings, then check the transmission.
Since it’s going into a GSF, I’ll need to replace the oil pan too!
This is a basic OH, so I want to make it an engine that will last a long time.
