We actually started working on the GSF750! This is my first time touching this bike.
But there’s hardly any difference, so the work is progressing smoothly.
That rumor about it having shim adjustment turned out to be false! It’s clearly an adjuster!
Between the cams, instead of an idler, there’s something like a stopper for preventing slippage.
The cam scuffing is just a tiny bit on the EX side cylinders 1 and 4, really minimal.
Otherwise there are no issues—the surfaces look clean.
The cam chain is fine too! All the valve clearances are quite wide.
That’s probably why it was making that rattling noise.
There was one spot where the threads on the head cover mounting area were off, so I corrected it.
The head cover gasket is currently on backorder.
I hope it arrives by the weekend!
