Finally Complete!

 

 
Finally got the DRZ400 inspection passed…
Seriously, this was the toughest one yet. Insufficient light output → switched to a slightly brighter Koito bulb → then an even brighter one →
different reflector and a brighter bulb → fabricated a bracket to fit the GSF1200’s multi-reflector →
an H4 bright bulb → and finally passed with a sketchy bulb from the tester shop…
Why the insufficient light output? This bike is completely stock—I haven’t touched any of the electrical system.
Is it a manufacturer defect? But I passed inspection just fine two years ago.
The big thing is that Shinagawa’s motorcycle testing facility got a new tester around last year.
It must be a really high-spec tester… Every time I get an inspection, I always have the tester shop adjust it first before I go,
but sometimes it still fails. It’s scary…
I’m going to pass the DRZ through Yokohama or Kawasaki from now on.
