Electric Circus . . . .

This Honda CRM250AR has been plagued with problems—a real headache. The owner’s been dealing with trouble since purchase: the engine revs sometimes and sometimes it doesn’t. . . . We investigated various possibilities. Engine, carburetor, electrical. . . . We narrowed it down to the electrical system. . . .
There are so many sensors attached. TPS, RC valve, water temperature, condenser, CDI—we went through them one by one.
The culprit turned out to be the RC valve not engaging when something triggered it while riding. . . . The motor was also suspicious.
But in the end it was the CDI. It took a lot of time, but once fixed it ran smoothly. . . .
Then the nightmare returned. . . . The bike got knocked over while parked (leaning against a guardrail) and the turn signals
started acting up. When I checked it out, the front was blinking but the rear wasn’t working—it just stayed lit.
Hmm? If it were the relay, both front and rear should stop blinking at the same time—or so I thought. . . .
Every relay problem I’d dealt with in the past behaved that way. So I swapped out the relay and that fixed it.
We finally got it done after the Obon holiday. We were stuck troubleshooting with a multimeter because we didn’t have the parts in stock.
Electrical work is all about patience and persistence.
