Personally, I’ve only owned a GSX-R once, and it’s still sitting there non-running without any restoration.

The GSX-R’s history goes back 20 years to 1985 when the 750 was released, so the oil-cooled model has been around for 20 years…
That’s why it’s being featured these days as a kind of anniversary…

1. Status
2. The satisfaction of ownership
3. Aspiration
4. The sense of accomplishment from fixing and nurturing it
And so on… In the end, it’s all just self-satisfaction.
I haven’t ridden my GS1000S in a while—it’s been sitting for a solid four years now…
Maybe I should get the inspection done sometime?
