This week has been really tough—we finally managed to get the number of bikes in our care down to just one.
Anyway, I’ve been thinking about various things since last month and have started working on them little by little. This time around,
I’ve started selling what I’m calling Process Parts! I can’t really call them original parts, so
I’m using this kind of phrasing, but I want to keep thinking about things like this—items that fill a niche and have minimal waste.
You know, things like “I wish this part were black” or “I don’t like the finish”—that’s pretty common with stock parts.
But just a little bit of work can really change the look and make it look way cooler.
Like painting the bottom of the stock fork black or making the engine cover magnesium color—it completely changes the image.
Spending tens of thousands of yen on machined parts is nice too, but there’s something charming about a “squid spec”—where you look close and notice subtle changes.
The other day, me, the boss, and Jaguar went fishing in Sangenjaya. Of course, the rule is that whoever comes in last buys everyone Starbucks!
And we couldn’t catch anything! Something must be off—the fishing was terrible! I need more practice!
Jaguar had beginner’s luck last time and caught fish, but this time he was basically out—nine fish and dead last!
Of course, I made him buy a grande size he didn’t even want and left it half-finished.
Today was a bit quieter, so I was doing some detailed odd jobs. In the evening, M-Shima taught me how to convert DVDs to AVI,
and I immediately wanted to get a certain DVD, but it wasn’t worth buying, and it’s hard to find and always checked out.
I called the Tsutaya in Gakugeidaigaku and they had it! Turns out Tsutaya can hold a rental for up to one day over the phone—
that’s a great service!
“The Summer of Cuckoo” is a 1999 French film that I saw in a theater,
and honestly, the story isn’t that impressive, but the cinematography is absolutely beautiful and I love it.
I’d recommend it to anyone with a troubled heart.
And while I’m at it, I wander around looking at CDs too, and “Oh, they have it! That thing!” But as a poor racer,
I don’t buy CDs these days!
I’ve completely stopped buying CDs. I used to buy 20 to 30 analog records a year and wander the streets,

went off the rails. Anyway, back to the story—the other day at Tower Records, I was listening to samples for ages (two hours is nothing)
