Once again, a used GSF1200 (as usual), and right off the bat, the fork oil is leaking
and the steering is completely stiff! That won’t do, so we got right to work on a full disassembly and overhaul!
Sure enough, it’s all rusty. Surprisingly, the steering stem area rusts pretty easily! The upper bearing seal
is just plastic on the GSF, so water gets in even more easily! If you swap this out for the one from a Bandit or something like that,
water won’t get in as easily.
Now you can feel that smooth, responsive handling.
