I’ve been visiting IKEA Kohoku quite often lately.
I’m impressed by the overwhelming selection, and the appeal lies in the thoughtful design and affordable prices.
Yesterday I went there to find a tray for work because the one I had was dirty and starting to crack.
I already use one at home—it’s a tray for organizing spoons, forks, chopsticks and such in a drawer,
and it’s the kind of item you can cut to size if you want.
The price is surprisingly reasonable at just 249 yen.
I tried it out on today’s work and it performed quite well.
Wrenches and screwdrivers stay nicely separated, and I can also keep wire offcuts and cable tie trimmings
in their own sections. There’s also a larger container available, and while I didn’t buy one this time, it would be perfect for Fork OH.
It used to come in gray, but yesterday only white was in stock, which was a bit disappointing.
One phrase I try not to say when I go to IKEA is “cheap.”
There are so many people there, and as they look at and buy various items, you hear the constant refrain of “cheap, cheap, super cheap!★”
It’s not about “learning from others’ mistakes to correct your own,” but it just doesn’t come across as very stylish, so it’s worth being careful!
What impressed me was something a well-mannered elementary school student said when looking at something…
Usually you hear “Mom, super cheap!”
But instead they said, “Mom, this means we can buy it without worry!”
I was impressed by that, so I’m going to use that phrase too! Though I’ve never actually used “buy without worry” before.
It’s all about daily improvement★
