It has that Initié flavor and the center is machined nicely, but
the center is off,
one side is M10 × P1.00
the other side is M10 × P1.25
and the helicoil went in at an angle too.
So I removed the old helicoil, re-drilled the hole, faced it off, and set up the helicoil tap.
I tried putting in one die, but it was too long, so I cut off just one wrap with a grinding stone in a gentle cross-section.
Perfect fit!
Yeah!
All done.
