Lots of work on the ZRX1100
I ordered a steering stem seal
but a valve stem seal arrived instead
I ordered from the manufacturer’s website, but it was like a map mix-up
It’s also a carburetor part for the GSF, so I’m being careful (I wonder if a corrected version came out now?)
The part is there, but I can’t do the work
When you remove the swingarm, on modern bikes you can’t get it off without removing the hose
Since I can also do a fluid change while I’m at it, that’s good
The rear caliper often has the dust seal sticking out…
It’s not from foreign matter getting in—it’s probably the fluid crystallizing inside the seal and pushing it out
It seems to come out as the piston moves
Better to replace the seal anyway…
Well… the troubles don’t end
The oil-cooled Katana I took in last week won’t fire, and I’m stuck
Spark plug? Coil? Pickup? Igniter? Carburetor?
Turns out the igniter (power pack) is bad…
I also did a light check on the carburetor and confirmed the passages
The spark is there, but it won’t start… I have a bad feeling about this
The battery is also weak, so I’m recharging it now… stuck in a rut
