Let’s secure the catch tank.

First, since the frame is rare, I don’t want to modify it. I’m struggling with how to make it easy to remove, hard to break, and simple.

If I spot-weld the lock nut, there’s no need to get a wrench in from the back side. I sometimes use it myself, but a nutter doesn’t lock properly, and it always feels too simplistic. There’s no need for this kind of shape, but a V-notch really is convenient.

If you don’t tighten it just right during installation, the layout gets tight.

Lately there are a lot of these sheet metal parts, so the drill press and drill don’t get much use. They pop in and out easily, so it’s convenient.

It’s co-fastened to the tank mount.

That’s how I installed it.

The other day someone asked if throttle sleeves are the only option available… but they’re not.

“I was pulling out and throwing away the sleeve”… wow. That’s instant. Only the head part number changes. Right 53165~ Left 53166~
I don’t like parts talk much because there are a lot of downsides.

I think it would sell if tire makers started selling handlebar grips.

Next up is the fuel pump. I had a naive hope that maybe I could take it apart and use it, but that was quickly dashed…
Well, I figured out what it’s for, so I’ll go ahead and replace it. It’s a convenient world we live in.
