It’s pitch black, huh? But it doesn’t have that harsh smell yet, so we’re good
If you pre-fill the filter and install it that way, you get that nice feeling of “taking care of the engine”
Make sure to lubricate the O-ring too.
Harley uses a “square-section” seal instead of an O-ring, and I’m not a fan of that.
If you fill the filter first and then add the oil, the level drop after engine startup is smaller, so it’s easier to check.
I’ve labeled them pine, bamboo, and plum ★
Bamboo is the popular choice. You can adjust the viscosity too, so feel free to say “half bamboo!”
Or just ask for “bamboo at 64!” Not many people do that though…
