Various issues came up and it became non-running, so it came in on a flatbed.
This owner has had it since it was new—quite the dedicated rider. It’s sparkling clean.
Moving on to the carburetor.
The butterfly valve is opening too far. Idle is running high.
I hate to point it out, but the #4 diaphragm is installed backwards.
There are signs of past clogging. The PJ was also slightly clogged.
Just to be safe, we’re checking the float level and
the actual fuel level.
We lubricated the throttle and gained 2 horsepower.
The oil is Newtech Bamboo
Circulating the oil and inspecting the coil.
We cranked it and checked the spark as requested—it does seem a bit weak somehow…

We also replaced the sensor and drain.
The engine fired right up on all four cylinders
It’s running terribly out of time.

It’s putting out some white smoke, but should that be okay…?
