The thread engagement on the rear carrier is pretty shallow, so we’ll replace it.
We don’t need grade 12.9, but we had it in stock. Since black oxide lacks corrosion resistance, we’ll apply rust protection to just the head.
The area below the head is protected with thread sealant.
Tomorrow we’ll replace the air filter and spark plugs, and it’ll be done.
