I’ve heard about this before, but it’s damp and heavy from wiping back and forth. It’s in a wet mask state, so let’s go ahead and replace it.
It’s got quite a sharp burn on it.
At first glance it doesn’t look like much, but there’s a rattling noise at idle.
It’s stabilized and the rattling has decreased. Synchronization is very important.
You don’t need to dial it in too precisely, but when all four cylinders are running in constant balance, the engine’s condition tens of thousands of kilometers down the road will be different.
When the exhaust note is stable and sounds like a smooth “voom,” it’s much smoother with less loss.
